Abs Mawji won his first event after firing a bogey free (-7) 65 at the Ritz-Carlton Members Club Sunday afternoon. His birdies at 3, 5, 7, 9, 12, 14 and 15 helped him finish two shots ahead of runner-up Seath Lauer (-5) 67. Lauer played consistent on the outward nine shooting 34, but his inward nine of 33 included two bogeys, which proved to be the difference. Rounding out the top 5 were amateurs Thomas Nessler and Spencer Cole along with Reunion winner Keith Kulzer. The three of them finished at (-2) 70.
We would like to thank the Ritz-Carlton again for hosting us on such short notice and the players for their understanding in the changing of venues. The West Florida Golf Tour will always do its best to ensure that its players are properly cared for as they pursue their careers in golf! This week the WFGT heads to Old Corkscrew in Estero, Fl.
