Keith Kulzer won his second event on the West Florida Golf Tour, holding off Tour money leader Joey Lamielle at the King's Dunes course at Lakewood Ranch Golf and Country Club. Kulzer's bogey on the first playoff hole was good enough to win the $750 first place check on Thursday afternoon. An afternoon that was filled with frustration as many of the players struggled with the 7,400 yard King's Dunes course. Only 3 players broke par as the wind swirled throughout the day and a score of 74 earned a last place check,the highest such number since earlier this winter.
Finishing 3rd in his first event was newcomer Kelly Sellers at (-1) 71. U.S. Open Qualifier Travis Hampshire finished solo 4th at (E) 72 and Brennan Webb and Matt Galloway finished tied for fifth at (+1) 73.
The WFGT would like to thank Lakewood Ranch Golf and Country Club for preparing its King's Dunes course so beautifully. The players surely enjoyed it. Next up, a tour favorite, The Ritz-Carlton Member's Club on Wednesday September 22. |
