Nick Jones won more than just the $1,000 first place check Friday afternoon, his (-8) 64 earned him a year long Honorary Membership to Bent Tree Country Club. Its something unheard of in developmental tour golf, a club offering more than just their club for the day, but for the entire year. The next time Jones rolls through the gates at Bent Tree he will be treated like a member rather than a guest. Jones certainly earned his membership over a very strong field. His nines of (-4) 32, (-4) 32 were good enough for a 5 shot victory over a group of players at (-3) 69's.
The West Florida Golf Tour would like to extend its gratitude to Bent Tree and its entire staff for getting the course ready for play this morning. They did an amazing job after 4 inches of rain the night before. The Tour on Monday will head across the street to one of Sarasota's finest facilities in Laurel Oak. |
